Planning

Not the sexiest of subjects to talk about. If you believe that the route to success is through action and doing, you are entirely right. The ability to take action is highly prized. If this is you, I want you to remain that way. If you feel that you are burning a lot of energy and not getting the results you want, then I would recommend you consider the quality of the plan you are executing. If you are the other way round – you never really get started with something, or you allow yourself to be distracted by other tasks too frequently, then you need to embrace a good plan. Blinkers on and get stuck into something with purpose. There are three key places that I would want you to have a plan:
  • Sales – winning new clients and developing your existing customers
  • Candidate pipeline – How are you developing your future placements through proactive talent pipelining?
  • Growth – What do you want your career to look like? Where are you going and how do you propose to get there?
Then there is the micro plan: What are you seeking to achieve today? Why is that so important? How are you going to deliver it? This video shares strategies for long-range, mid and short term planning. Get clarity on what you want. NOTE: Make sure you watch the video to the very end to get your lesson points and progress towards your pillars badge.
